The concept of urbanity refers to urban life and the behaviors, values, and features — social, cultural, and aesthetic — acknowledged by the communities that live in the city and that today also have to confront the climate crisis. The contribution explores the impact of extreme weather phenomena — heat waves, heat island effect, water bombs — on the city and public spaces, analyzing adaptation strategies including Nature-Based Solutions (NBS). Such strategies are discussed according to their role in enhancing Ecosystem Services, improving the quality of the environment and the well-being of citizens. Such technologies, integrated into broader strategies and urban-scaled interventions, are central to strengthening cities’ resilience, positively influencing perceptions of safety and environmental comfort contribute to a more sustainable and inclusive urban ecosystem.
